I’m so excited to host a giveaway for the 3 Piece Cast Iron Skillet Set. My cast iron skillets are a huge part of my cooking routine. I have a few different sized skillets and use them every day. The great thing is that it’s not only for cooking food on the stovetop, it’s also oven safe and non-stick (if you season it of course). This set has a 6 1/4 inch, 7 7/8 inch and a 10 inch Skillet!

Why you need a Cast Iron skillet instead of non-stick:

    The first thing I would make is an amazing omelet, using a few organic eggs, shitake mushrooms, baby spinach leaves, and top it off with a few organic baby tomato slices, just lightly cooked to bring out their flavor.

    I love cast iron and I have always wanted a set. I will make cheddar jalapeno cornbread first! Then sauteed onions/peppers. I hope I win!

    I absolutely love cast iron cookware. It is the ONLY tool to cook with. Sauteed kale, Swiss chard, zucchini or yellow squash fresh from the garden along with some onions and garlic would be a fitting start for their use. Breakfast scrambled eggs with spinach is another option. Whatever their use, they will be used exclusively! I’m looking forward to their receipt.

    I found my cast iron pan in the late 60’s at a ghost-town trash dump site in the middle of the desert where we were off-road camping. It was a mess with burnt on food and looked like some pioneer woman gave up trying to clean it. I took it back to our campsite and placed it in the coals of our campfire and the next morning dug it out of the ashes. After a good cleaning and seasoning, it was as good as new and I have been using it ever since! It now hangs from a cast iron hook on my pantry door. It makes a cute shabby chic magnet board for recipes and shopping list when not in my oven or stovetop. <3

    I love making fried zucchini, yellow squash, onions and garlic together. And they are never as good as when I used to make them in my mom’s cast-iron pans! Would love to have these!

    Cast Iron is the only kind of pan I use, especially for bacon and eggs, but also for sauteing and broiling all sorts of things.

    I just informed my husband that there is such thing as a frittata — and he had sparkles in his eyes — so I imagine that’ll need to be first on the list!

    those “non-stick” pans really freak me out – I definitely need these cast iron skillets!

    first thing I’d like to make would be a frittata – very hard to make without the non-stick feature that I can get with a seasoned cast iron!

    On PBS last night I watched Cook’s Country and they made Naan in a cast iron skillet…I have been looking for a way to make Naan at home without a Tandori Oven (I cursed the day I sacrificed my set of cast iron skillets..as I watched the episode…)…So…Naan..would be the first of Many items/dishes that I would make with this lovely set….(During one of our MANY military moves…we were over our weight allowance and was I donated my cast iron skillets to charity…(good cause…but every time I want to use them…I regret it to this day)….

    I love making sunny side up eggs in a cast-iron skillet – they get all crunchy around the edges and the yolk stays soft
