This smoothie has roughly 14 grams of protein. I often have this smoothie as it’s a good way to start the day with a good serving of protein and nutrients to keep you full and energized.
High Protein Chocolate Banana Smoothie (Vegan):
Makes 1 serving
1 cup almond milk (how to make almond milk) or coconut milk (get bpa free coconut milk here)
1 banana (about 1/2 cup frozen)
2 tbsp raw cacao powder
2 tbsp collagen hydrolysate gelatin (or raw organic hemp protein for vegan)
1 tbsp almond butter or tahini
1 tsp coconut oil (it’s important to have saturated fat with protein & green powders so that your body can absorb it along with the other fat-soluble vitamins)
1/2 tsp maca (optional- this is great for balancing hormones)
1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional)
1 tsp vitamineral green (optional- this is a great way to include some extra vitamins and minerals)
2. Blend on high until all ingredients are blended. Add ice or water to desired consistency.
