These beautiful jars of scented bath salts also make easy, inexpensive gifts for friends and family. They probably cost less than $2 per jar, yet stores sell natural bath salts for upwards of $10 per jar!

You can customize it to whichever scent you’d like. It’s also fun to mix and match essential oils for different uses like relaxation, invigoration, uplifting, skin health and more!

How I Use Essential Oils Everyday…

Ever since I started using essential oils, I’ve replaced so many regular household items with my own DIY natural versions. It’s made me healthier by avoiding toxic chemical products and it’s even saved me money since I make so much of my own stuff now!

I also use essential oils to support my immune system, sleep, healthy hormones and more.

Why I Only Use Young Living Essential Oils:

Most essential oils are sold more cheaply because companies cut corners. So you risk using essential oils that have chemical solvents or low-grade ingredients. When you buy them cheap – that means you have to use MORE of it, which really doesn’t save you money in the long run.

Pesticides, pollution, previously farmed land – all of it can affect the quality of an oil. Why would you go the extra step of using an essential oil to get away from a toxic chemical-and then use an oil laden with chemicals? It makes no sense, right?

So as you can see quality makes a big difference. I’d rather use just a little of the best quality oil, like Young Living, for my family. And really, you’ll see that with Young Living a little really goes a long way.

One of the things that stands out to me is Young Living’s Seed to Seal process which means each plant is hand-weeded, there are no pesticides used, no chemicals, and no weed killers.

Members can actually visit Young Living farms to be a part of the harvest and replanting each year. That kind of transparency is just unheard of with other companies.

Some of the best and most versatile oils to use in many health and wellness applications are lavender, frankincense, peppermint, lemon and some special Young Living blends like thieves and digize. You can learn more about essential oils with my FREE ebook and email course here.

Keyword: homemade bath salts, how to make bath salts
Servings: 1 jar
Author: Hannah Healy
Ingredients
  • 2 cups epsom salts
  • 15-25 drops essential oils of your choice (see below)
  • 1 pint jar
  • sprigs dried lavender rosemary or thyme (optional)
My favorite Young Living Essential Oil Combos for bath salts:
  • Lavender + Bergamot Relaxing
  • Stress Away Calming
  • Tea Tree + Elemi Good for the skin
  • PanAway Great for after a workout
  • Peppermint + Lemon Invigorating
  • Ylang Ylang + Frankincense to support a good mood
  • Joy + Grapefruit Uplifting
Instructions
  1. Place the epsom salts in a jar, then place the essential oil drops over the epsom salts and shake the jar to disperse the essential oils. If you are adding optional materials like dried lavender add them after shaking the salts with the essential oils.
  2. It's best to add the essential oils onto epsom salts instead of adding the essential oils straight to the bath water because they float to the top of the water. The epsom salts help them disperse throughout the bath!

Hi there, are there any Young Living essential oils which should not be used for bath salts as they may irritate skin?

There are a few oils that can be hot to the skin if they are undiluted like oregano, basil or cinnamon, but usually oils are very diluted in the bath anyway, so most oils should be ok. If you are sensitive though, I would avoid those hot oils.

I’m not sure exactly how long it lasts, but I have one around for months that is still good, so I think it’s good for a while!
