This gingerbread smoothie is such a perfect healthy dessert for the holidays! I have a smoothie or shake for breakfast quite often just because it’s so simple, quick and easy to whip up.
It’s also not very hard to make a healthy smoothie that is also super yummy. You can hide some veggies in there (like spinach) without even tasting it! This gingerbread smoothie is a great example of a healthy smoothie that tastes like your favorite holiday gingerbread cookies!
You can also get some protein in your smoothie with my favorite paleo protein for smoothies– grass fed gelatin! Grass fed gelatin is so good for you and contains easy-to-digest protein, amino acids, collagen, minerals which benefit your skin, hair, joints, immune system, gut and overall health. It really is a superfood! You can see more benefits here. You just want to make sure you get quality grass fed gelatin like this one because the ones from the supermarket are of poor quality, over-processed and don’t contain many of the benefits that quality gelatin does.
Also, be sure to get collagen hydrolysate gelatin for your smoothie because that kind is water soluble and won’t thicken your smoothie into a block of jello like the regular gelatin will. Regular grass fed gelatin is good for you too, but you just want to use that kind for making gummy treats and jello since it behaves differently than the collagen kind.
