During the warmer months, I sometimes crave a frozen treat but don’t want ice cream or store bought things because of all the added sugar. This pineapple sorbet recipe is one of my favorite sugar free desserts for those times because it’s healthy, tastes delicious and couldn’t be easier to make! Plus pineapple is full of beneficial vitamins, nutrients and natural digestive enzymes!

Why I love this recipe

  • It’s only 1 ingredient: Pineapple! So it’s super simple, quick and easy to make.
  • The texture is amazing! It’s solid, smooth and pliable just like real sorbet. Plus the natural sweetness of the pineapple makes this a delicious dessert without adding sweeteners.
  • Since it’s just pineapple that makes this a healthy recipe that’s vegan, paleo and free from added sugar!

Pineapple sorbet recipe tips

  • This recipe must be made with frozen pineapple and will not work with fresh pineapple. You can buy frozen pineapple from grocery stores or cut up a pineapple and freeze it yourself. If you freeze it yourself just be sure to cut it in to small pieces and make sure the pieces are separated so they don’t stick together when freezing. This wont work if it’s jus tone big frozen lump of pineapple.
  • You will need a food processor for this recipe to work. Since the pineapple is very hard and frozen, the food processor is the only thing that can really break it up and create it into a soft frozen treat. A blender will not work.
  • This pineapple sorbet will need to be eaten immediately after making it since it will start to melt and will not keep well in the freezer.
  • I like to put my ice cream bowls in the freezer prior to making this recipe so that the sorbet stays nice and cold after I place it in the bowls.

How to make this recipe

Get your frozen pineapple and place it in the food processor.

Blend it on low and gradually work up to high. You may need to stop a few times to scrape down the sides of the food processor to work in all of the pineapple. Keep blending until it turns into a smooth solid puree.
